Preliminary Phase: Programming
Every project has a starting point, where interested parties come together to talk about what needs to be done in order to complete the necessary work. In architecture, the initial step for your Project is to develop your overall Program. We would meet with you to discuss your overall objectives, general schedule (with any time constraints) and any initial construction budget considerations for the project. We will typically request a site visit to help us better understand and observe any unique site elements or features on your property and any other additional opportunities for how your project could best engage with the site that could be incorporated into the overall design. After our initial discussions, we will gather all of the notes and present them to you in a typed format to finalize and agree upon your Program that will then serve as our overall guide for the next phase; The Schematic Design Phase.
Importance of Programming in The Design Process
