Phase V: Construction Administration

The final phase of Architectural Services is Construction Administration (CA), which would generally coincide with the construction of the project. Depending on the complexity of the project, Construction Administration services generally include a Pre-Construction Meetings, Site Visits and Job Meetings, submittals review from Contractor for materials and/or methods of construction, Requests for Information (RFI), Payment Applications and Punchlists. Once you have selected the best suited Contractor for the project, and after Contracts are signed, your construction can finally begin. Even though the company you're working with will have access to detailed drawings and possible renderings of the project, having your Architect administer the construction process will offer you relief when all the questions and decisions have to be made, especially during a short construction time frame, and present you with a clear understanding of the process and choices available to you to keep your project on track with time and cost. The Importance of Construction Administration

The intent of Construction Administration is to act as a checks-and-balance for the Project and to insure general conformance with the design intent and contract documents prepared by us and approved by you as the Owner. If details, materials or other need to be adjusted or changed, during the course of construction, we would discuss and implement any alternative or proposed details to be incorporated into the project. After the design process has wrapped up, our involvement in your project does not have to end.
